Description

Olivier Mosset is a Swiss painter whose work is rooted in conceptual abstraction. In the 1960s Mosset was a member of the BMPT collective along with Daniel Buren, Michel Parmentier, and Niele Toroni. The group suppressed subjectivity and expressiveness favoring instead practical systems like the utilization of neutral, repetitive patterns. Pinnacle to the group’s philosophy were the  200 or more identical oil paintings that Mosset produced between 1966 and 1974, of a small black circle at the center of a square white canvas.

Scratches and small tears around edges of dust jacket. Book itself is in very good condition.
