Description

The Peoplemobile (Project for City Squares in the Netherlands): Acconci accompanied a truck with a load of metal panels on a tour of five cities in the Netherlands between May and June 1979: Amsterdam, Middelburg, Rotterdam, Eindhoven and Groningen. Acconci would stay in each city for three days and each day he would use the panels and the truck to perform one of three constructions: table with bench, shelter, wall.

Combination: In the old sidewalk elevator shaft at the foot of the stairs to the basement of 112 Greene Street, viewers looking through a window saw a mirrored space and Acconci performing a work which involved holding roosters close to his body and thereby becoming a cover or container for them. The piece lasted for six hours.
