Includes a tube of paint to be crushed between two plexiglass plates, 4 screws, 8 washers, 4 wing nuts, two instruction sheets and a "Don’t forget to peel paper off plexiglass" note in original plastic bag. Description

In 1968, SMS was published in 6 issues by American surrealists William Copley and Dimitri Petrov. At the time it had little notoriety, but it brought together works by both young lesser-known artists with those by confirmed artists such as Arman, Christo, Marcel Duchamp, Man Ray, Roy Lichtenstein, Claes Oldenburg, Bruce Nauman, among the others. The publication ceased abruptly in December 1968.

Condition:  Paint has leaked out of tube, 2 washers stuck to paint tube, small bit of paper from the top instruction sheet stuck to paint tube, plexiglass sheets stuck together.
