Illustrated throughout with b/w reproductions of artworks, correspondence and photographs from 84 selected lenders who were part of the New York Correspondence School founded by Johnson. Condition: Deep toning to cover and leaf edges, edges of spine show wear and small tear on the top of one side.

Ray Johnson (1927–1995) was an American artist seminal in the Pop art movement of the 1950s, an early conceptualist and a pioneer of the mail art network- the New York Correspondence School. For Johnson, mail art involved self-dissemination, the pleasant recruitment of others and an extensive gift economy. His whole identity was reflected through its ever-evolving, metamorphic raw materials, methods, intersections, and collaborations.
